Standing PigeonCheryl Kemp took her first yoga class in 1998 while studying at the University of Cincinnati where she obtained a B.S. in Psychology and graduate training in Clinical Psychology. She felt an immediate connection to yoga and began practicing regularly, experimenting with different styles.  In 2009 she was forced to quit running after 17 years and used yoga to rehabilitate both body and spirit.  It was during this time she found Baptiste style yoga and knew she finally found a practice that spoke to her on every level.

Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga incorporates flowing postures, breath, strength and cardiovascular work into one complete package. The challenge of the practice as well as it’s grounding quality and down to earth message of empowerment and strength is exactly what Cheryl needed. The benefit she experienced from Baptiste yoga was so strong she knew it was finally time to share her love of yoga; especially this style which is truly accessible to everyone.

In 2010, she completed Baron Baptiste’s Level 1 training at the Menla Retreat Center in New York.  She is in ongoing training with Baron Baptiste and will complete training for Yoga Alliance certification in January 2011.

Check the teaching schedule to find out when and where classes are offered. Private instruction and yoga parties are also available in the Cincinnati, OH and Carefree/Cave Creek, AZ areas.
